Pre-K - 4/Literacy Specialist Date Posted: 7/16/2026 Location: Districtwide Date Available: 08/27/2026 Additional Information: Show/Hide Join the Westbrook School Department as an Instructional Coach with a speciality in literacy to primarily support our elementary schools as well as our secondary schools as needed. The Instructional Coach provides opportunities for teachers to develop professionally through coaching cycles, modeled lessons, demonstrations, and workshops. As instructional leaders, coaches collaborate with building leaders and other coaches to support the needs of teachers which impacts the achievement of students. Coaches also collaborate on curriculum development, data analysis, and professional development planning. Westbrook follows a literacy framework that incorporates research based practices that supports students in developing skills and strategies, concepts and content in the English language arts and literacy across the curriculum. Successful experience teaching reading and writing is required and an advanced degree in literacy or reading and certification as a literacy specialist (Maine 090) is highly desired.
