This role is responsible for the professional installation, integration, and maintenance of high-tech 12-volt equipment in law enforcement, public safety, and federal vehicles. Industry-specific training for candidates with a strong foundational knowledge of automotive or marine electronics is available. **Position Summary** Emergency vehicle equipment installers must have the technological and electrical skills to repair and maintain the specialized equipment found in police, public safety and emergency vehicles. Individuals must be able to perform physically demanding tasks that may require accessing confined spaces Work inside and outside vehicles in shop environment. Standard Monday-Friday work week (with occasional weekend overtime for large projects) **Primary Responsibilities** - Installation & Integration: Professionally install 12v electrical components including light bars, sirens, flashers, in-car video systems, and radio communications. - Technical Assembly: Mount and secure vehicle hardware such as transport partitions, consoles, equipment racks, laptops, and printers. - Networking & Comms: Install and configure antennas, routers, and GPS systems. - Quality Control: Test, troubleshoot, and repair 12v circuits and equipment to ensure 100% functionality and safety compliance **Required Qualifications** - **Technical Aptitude**: Strong understanding of vehicle wiring and the ability to identify/troubleshoot electrical circuits. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics. - **Experience:** Minimum of 2 years of automotive or marine 12v experience is preferred (but not required for the right candidate). - **Physical Dexterity:** Ability to work with small objects, distinguish colors for wiring, and maintain high attention to detail. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand for extended periods; walk; sit, stoop, kneel, crouch; reach overhead and below shoulder level; Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with the hand(s); stoop, maneuver into / out of tight spaces, speak and the ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds.
