**REAL Food re-fined.** **Inpatient Clinical Dietitian - Hospital | Location: Phoenix, AZ 85008** **Compensation: $30 per hour for RDN Exam Eligible / $35-$40 per hour DOE for Credentialed RDNs | Full-Time** **Schedule:** Monday-Friday, rotating weekends. *Flexible scheduling, and the opportunity for hybrid work!* **Job Summary** Make a meaningful impact on patient health through expert nutrition care. As an **Inpatient Clinical Dietitian** at Valleywise Health Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ, you'll assess, plan, and implement individualized nutrition interventions that support recovery, improve outcomes, and enhance quality of life. In this role, you will provide Medical Nutrition Therapy to patients across a wide range of acuity levels and complex disease states in one of Arizona's leading public teaching hospitals. You'll conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments, provide therapeutic diet education, develop and monitor enteral and parenteral nutrition regimens, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice standards. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams, you'll play a vital role in advancing patient-centered care while ensuring compliance with clinical, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. Your expertise will help patients thrive—one meal, one intervention, and one meaningful connection at a time. \**An excellent opportunity for those looking to build their skills in clinical nutrition care.* **What you'll do** - Manage and provide nutrition care for patients in the Medical/Oncology, Observation, and Emergency Department units. - Conduct nutrition assessments for patients within required timeframes. - Obtain timely and appropriate data and analyze/interpret data based on evidence-based standards. - Provide appropriate documentation that summarizes the nutrition care plan in the patient's medical record, including nutrition assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and plan/goals. Once implemented, the clinical dietitian will monitor the progress toward goals. - Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences and discharge planning activities, as appropriate. - Work closely with other disciplines including OT, PT, speech, and social services to ensure collaboration of care. - Perform a nutrition diagnosis after identifying the problem and clarifying the cause of the problem with the patient's medical team. - Develop, implement, and/or make recommendations for an individualized plan for nutrition intervention, including enteral and parenteral nutrition. - Review/approve therapeutic diets to ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines. - Assess and evaluate techniques that consider the varied needs of age-specific populations as well as cultural, religious, and ethnic concerns. - Work collaboratively with and provide area supervision of dining service staff to assure accuracy of diet prescriptions and high level of customer satisfaction/scores. - Provide appropriate follow-up in accordance with the patient's treatment goals, referring patients for outpatient counseling, community resources or home services, as appropriate. Conducts in-services and educational presentations to hospital/department staff. - Maintain accurate record keeping of daily clinical activities, as required. - Participate in the orientation and training of new dietitians and DTR’s. Functions as a preceptor to dietetic students and interns. Plans learning experiences, teaches and evaluates the performance of students and interns. - Perform other duties as assigned. **What you will need** - Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field; Master's degree preferred. - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) certification or RD-Eligible. - CDR card - ServSafe certification - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. **Who you are** People who do well on our team are service-min…
