This hybrid role based in Pittsfield, MA involves developing and configuring solutions to complex engineering challenges, testing and troubleshooting in a lab environment, and creating documentation in support of a rigorous engineering process. U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to government security clearance requirements, and candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. **Key Responsibilities** - Develop and configure infrastructure solutions to complex mission-critical engineering problems in support of U.S. Navy programs - Evaluate systems, networks, and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable government security specifications - Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses across hardware and infrastructure environments - Develop system security documentation and support system accreditation, certification evaluation, and test activities - Generate and support technical engineering products throughout the full system development lifecycle - Contribute to the engineering framework used across multiple products and systems to shape future capabilities - Test and troubleshoot infrastructure solutions in a controlled lab environment - Create comprehensive documentation to support a rigorous and compliant engineering process - Identify and apply AI-driven opportunities for continuous improvement and operational innovation - Collaborate daily with an agile team to problem-solve and ensure commitments to the U.S. Navy mission are met **Mandatory Skills** - U.S. Citizenship required — ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance is mandatory - Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience — OR Master's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience - Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards - Strong knowledge of requirements management and system modeling tools - Creative problem-solving ability with capacity to quickly grasp and apply new information - Strong collaborative skills with experience thriving in agile, team-driven engineering environments - Commitment to ongoing professional development for self and peers - Awareness of AI application opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation **Nice-to-Have Skills** - Prior experience supporting federal defense or U.S. Navy programs - Familiarity with DoD security accreditation and certification processes - Experience working in lab-based hardware testing and validation environments - Background in mission-critical or operational technology infrastructure
