### Industrial Material Handling Technician **Location:** Richmond, VA **Schedule:** First Shift (Monday–Thursday starting at 6:00 AM; 8-10 hour shifts with approximately one Saturday per month) **Starting Pay:** From **$22.00 per hour**, with higher pay available depending on experience. ### Position Summary We are seeking a dependable Industrial Material Handling Technician to support daily yard and warehouse operations. This position is responsible for safely moving steel products, loading and unloading shipments, and operating heavy material handling equipment. Candidates with equipment experience are encouraged to apply, and training is available for individuals who are motivated to learn and grow. ### Primary Responsibilities - Operate overhead cranes to lift, position, and transport steel materials safely. - Use Pettibone equipment to move materials throughout the yard and work areas. - Load outgoing shipments and unload incoming deliveries. - Relocate trailers within the yard as needed. - Assist with warehouse, yard, and production support activities. - Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety guidelines. - Work with the operations team to keep materials moving efficiently and meet daily production goals. ### Qualifications - Previous experience operating overhead cranes, Pettibones, forklifts, or other industrial material handling equipment is preferred. - Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. - Strong attendance record and dependable work habits. - Commitment to following workplace safety procedures. - Willingness to learn additional equipment and complete on-the-job training. ### Why Join Our Team? - Starting pay from **$22.00 per hour**, with higher pay available depending on experience. - Stable full-time first-shift schedule. - Paid training and opportunities to develop additional equipment operation skills. - Long-term opportunity with potential for advancement.
