Induction Operator I

## Description **Job Title:** Induction Operator I **Department:** Manufacturing **FLSA Class:** Non-Exempt **Pay Type:** Hourly **Job Summary:** Manufactures and assembles parts for Machinists. Operations include induction welding, brazing, washing and lapping parts. **Essential Job Functions:** - Performs general machine operations and adjustments - Receives and pulls parts for work orders, verifies quality, and washes parts - as needed - Identifies and tags incoming and finished parts - Brazes and/or uses induction machines to assemble parts - Performs quality checks on finished parts - Mixes compound for lapping process - Operates sand blaster - Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or a Health Safety and Environmental team member - Participates in proactive teams to achieve departmental and company goals - Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill - Performs other duties as assigned **Qualifications:** - 1-3 years’ experience in job shop or manufacturing environment preferred - Certified in Kimray Induction Braze Procedures preferred - Experience reading blueprint drawings and measuring tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers) helpful - Must have strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused performing repetitive tasks - Must have analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills - Must possess good organizational and time management skills - Good understanding of dissimilar metals heat and ability to make adjustments as needed - Ability to multi-task and monitor several machines at one time - Must pass background check and drug screen **Core Competencies:** - **Ensures Accountability** – Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments. - **Instills Trust** – Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity. - **Collaborates** – Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives. - **Demonstrates Self Awareness** - Using a combination of feedback and reflection to gain productive insight into personal strengths and weaknesses. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** No **Education:** - High School Diploma or equivalent **Work Environment:** - Manufacturing Environment - Machine shop floor – conditions may vary - Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical currents, oils and chemicals - Potential exposure to fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation - Extreme temperatures for more than an hour possible - Consistently elevated noise levels in work area - Work equipment not conducive to jewelry, pacemakers or other medical devices - PPE required in specific areas **Physical Requirements:** - Continuous reaching, walking, standing, stooping, crouching, bending - Must have a steady hand - Repetitive use of hands - Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 75 lbs. **Safety Sensitive Position:** - Yes - This position performs tasks or duties that could affect the health or safety of Kimray employees or other individuals and has been designated as Safety Sensitive.
