Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Restaurant Manager/Supervisor or Telephone Sales Agent (TSA), the In-Room Dining Server Assistant (IRD SA) supports the In-Room Dining operation by preparing service carts, maintaining back-of-house areas, and ensuring all workspaces remain clean, organized, and service-ready. This role is responsible for assisting In-Room Dining Servers with daily operational needs, including setting and retrieving tables, clearing and breaking them down, preparing service setups, and maintaining adequate supplies of napkins, silverware, china, glassware, condiments, and service accessories. The IRD Server Assistant must possess strong menu and beverage knowledge, including proper service ware and table-setting requirements. This is a back-of-house, non-guest-facing position. Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process. The pay rate is $17.00. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment ServSafe Food Handler and/or Alcohol Certification Expectations & Responsibilities: Maintain complete knowledge of daily activities, house counts, and amenity-related details. Maintain thorough knowledge of: All menu items and beverage offerings Proper table setups and service standards Guest room locations Hours of operation Complete daily prep work and cart setup/breakdown. Assist In-Room Dining Servers with operational needs throughout each shift. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment. Support a positive culture of teamwork, learning, and service excellence. Stay informed of hotel activities, including arrivals, departures, and banquet events. Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of front-of-house and back-of-house restaurant operations. Successfully complete time-sensitive tasks and adjust priorities as business needs change. Communicate professionally using proper English grammar. Essential Physical Requirements: Stand and walk throughout the entire shift (100%). Frequently reach, bend, and stoop (75%). Lift and carry up to 35 pounds. Push heavy room service carts approximately 30 times per shift over distances of 300 to 500 feet.
