This role will operate fully onsite and may offer relocation for the right candidate. NIKA benefits include PTO, holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k matching, and an understanding of work/life balance. **Job Description:** The HVAC Technician assists Heating Ventilation and Refrigeration Journeyman in conducting inspection, installation, maintenance and repairs and alteration of commercial and residential heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities; performs preventative maintenance and routine servicing of equipment. Primary Tasks: Tends ventilating and heating equipment, such as fans, vacuum pumps, air compressors, vents and ducts, and lubrication-oil coolers used in buildings or industrial processes; adjust valves to regulate temperature of lubrication oil and flow of water through system, moves controls to regulate speed of fans, adjust vents and ducts, records gauge readings, and repairs completed; troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of residential boilers and systems to include boiler controls, motors, valves, expansion tanks, and backflow preventers; writes repair work order tickets and out-of-order tags preparatory to equipment repair. - ## Requirements Required: - High school education or G.E.D equivalent. - Valid driver’s license - Two (2) year’s relevant HVAC/plumbing/pipefitting trades work experience - Minimum one (1) year experience with small package/compact boiler systems - Knowledge of ventilation system component - Ability to wear a respirator as required and pass a respirator pulmonary function fit test - Experience with projects or contracts of similar scope. - Must be a U.S. citizen - Ability to obtain required clearances and gate passes to get on military bases.
