**Human Resources Manager** **Location:** Marshall, MN **Job Type:** Full-Time, Exempt **Reports To:** Director of Human Resources **Position Summary** Runnings is seeking a Human Resources Manager to support retail stores and distribution center operations across a multi-state territory. This role is responsible for aligning HR strategies with business objectives while providing hands-on support in recruiting, employee relations, leadership development, and compliance. The HR Manager serves as a key team member to operational leaders, driving workforce effectiveness, improving employee engagement, and supporting business performance through data-driven HR practices. **Compensation Range:** $70,000-$80,000 /yr +bonus (based on experience) **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** **HR Business Support** - Align workforce planning, staffing, and organizational development with business needs - Advise leadership on employee relations, performance management, and team effectiveness - Support organizational changes and business initiatives **Recruitment & Talent Acquisition** - Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, candidate screening, and interview coordination - Utilize applicant tracking systems (ATS) to maintain candidate flow and hiring metrics - Build and maintain talent pipelines and support onboarding programs **Employee Relations** - Conduct investigations and resolve employee relations issues - Administer disciplinary actions, including corrective action and performance improvement plans (PIPs) - Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment practices **Leadership Development & Coaching** - Train and coach leaders on employee management, accountability, and performance improvement - Support leadership development initiatives and succession planning **HR Analytics & Workforce Metrics** - Analyze key HR metrics including turnover, retention, hiring trends, and labor costs - Use data insights to improve workforce performance and engagement **Compliance & Risk Management** - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, ADA, EEOC, etc.) - Manage unemployment claims and related documentation **HR Programs & Process Improvement** - Support Total Rewards programs including benefits and compensation communication - Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency **SCOPE & IMPACT** - Primary HR support for multi-location retail stores and distribution centers - Direct impact on employee retention, engagement, and leadership effectiveness - Influence business outcomes through workforce planning and HR strategy - Drive consistency and effectiveness in HR processes across locations **Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) - 4–7+ years of progressive HR experience - Strong experience in: - Employee relations - Talent acquisition / recruiting - Performance management - Leadership coaching - Knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements - Experience in retail, multi-unit, manufacturing, or distribution environments preferred - HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred **Work Environment & Travel** - Occasional travel (approximately 10–20%) to support retail and distribution locations - Work conducted in retail, office, and distribution environments - Ability to communicate effectively across multiple platforms - Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds **Equal Opportunity Employer** Runnings is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
