HR & Office Manager About Kinn Kinn is a fast-growing fine jewelry brand with our HQ and fulfillment in Downtown LA and flagship stores in Culver City and NYC’s West Village. We’re a small, high-performing team that cares deeply about craft, culture, and taking care of our people. About the Role We’re looking for an HR & Office Manager to be the operational heartbeat of our people function. You’ll own the day-to-day of the employee lifecycle—hiring logistics, onboarding, benefits, offboarding—while keeping our office running and our culture thriving. This is a hands-on, do-it-yourself role: you’re as comfortable posting a job and coordinating interviews as you are ordering the birthday cake and pulling together a slide for our all-hands meeting. You’ll have an external HR partner to lean on for complex or high-stakes matters, so you can focus on execution, organization, and people. What You’ll Do People Operations - Run hiring logistics end to end: turn manager notes into polished job posts, post and manage roles in our ATS (JazzHR), screen and coordinate candidates, schedule interviews, and keep hiring managers looped in - Own onboarding—from offer paperwork to first-week setup—so every new hire feels welcomed and set up to succeed - Manage offboarding, including exit surveys, final paperwork, and required state documents (CA & NY) - Keep employee records accurate and current in our HRIS (Gusto), benefits platform (EASE); and google drive. - Administer benefits day to day: enroll and remove employees, field employee questions, and coordinate with our brokers during open enrollment - Support payroll in partnership with our payroll lead, and help run our performance review cycles in Gusto Culture & Communications - Keep our culture rituals humming: monthly team celebration email, birthdays and anniversaries, work anniversaries and gift vouchers, and new-hire shout-outs - Build a monthly all-hands slide and represent HR at team meetings - Plan team events, celebrations, and engagement initiatives that reinforce what makes Kinn, Kinn Office & Facilities - Manage office vendors, supplies, equipment, and facilities issues—including repairs, deliveries, and building management - Serve as point of contact for office-related vendor contracts, renewals, and payments - Coordinate office logistics for team events, meetings, and visitors Business Administration & Compliance (with support) - Own procurement for supplies, software, and services; keep a tidy vendor/contract database with on-time renewals - Coordinate insurance renewals and administration—General Liability, Workers’ Comp, Cargo, EPLI, and Flood—working with our insurance broker on deadlines and documentation - Manage business license renewals, DBA registrations, fictitious business name filings, and other state-level administrative compliance - Keep handbook, policies, and required trainings current and on schedule - Serve as first point of contact for employee questions and escalating complex employee relations, leave (including parental/medical), and multi-state compliance to our external HR partner Who You Are - 3–5 years across HR/people operations and/or office management, ideally at a startup or consumer/retail brand - A natural organizer who builds simple systems and never drops a ball - High EQ and discretion with sensitive information - Proactive and self-directed—you like being the in-person go-to who keeps the office running - Comfortable being both strategic-lite and very tactical; you like the doing - Working knowledge of HR basics and benefits administration (you don’t need to be a compliance expert—that’s what our HR partner is for) - Genuinely enjoy making a workplace feel good to be part of Nice to Have - Experience with Gusto, JazzHR, or similar tools - Multi-state (CA/NY) exposure - A love of retail, design, or consumer brands
