About the Role: We're looking for an experienced HR Generalist to temporarily own a broad and specialized portfolio spanning HR project management, benefits administration, HRIS systems, and global mobility/immigration. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety — one week leading a system implementation, the next reconciling benefits invoices or managing an H-1B renewal — and who brings strong judgment, attention to detail, and a service mindset to everything they touch. In addition to owning this portfolio directly, you'll manage and develop a Junior HR Generalist, delegating and reviewing work across these functions. You'll partner closely with HR Business Partners, HR leadership, immigration counsel, and employees across the company to keep core HR operations running smoothly and compliantly. This role requires onsite attendance in our New York City office 4 days a week (Mon - Thurs). What you will do: Collaborate with HR leadership and key stakeholders to align project objectives, manage expectations, and execute strategic change management methodologies. Provide comprehensive support to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) regarding Employee Relations (ER) cases, which includes overseeing documentation, maintaining detailed investigation records, and ensuring rigorous follow-up. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving employment legislation and regulatory requirements, ensuring strict organizational compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and establishing appropriate policies and procedures. Oversee the daily administration of comprehensive group benefits programs, encompassing medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans. Direct the annual open enrollment process, including strategic communications and system enhancements. Ensure the integrity of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) data through regular query execution, systematic data auditing, and timely system updates. Advance the formulation and maintenance of user procedures, operational guidelines, and comprehensive documentation for Human Resources systems. Exercise direct ownership over global mobility and immigration initiatives, offering strategic counsel on visa pathways, operational timelines, and status adjustments. Coordinate payroll adjustments in close alignment with relevant stakeholders to guarantee absolute accuracy. Direct multi-state and multi-entity leave management programs. What we’re looking for: 5+ years of progressive HR generalist experience, with direct, hands-on ownership of benefits administration and HRIS systems. Experience administering and optimizing an HRIS platform (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, BambooHR), including reporting, audits, and vendor management. Experience supporting payroll processes in coordination with a payroll team. Working knowledge of ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, I-9/E-Verify, and other applicable federal and multi-state employment regulations. Experience working with Professional Employment Organization’s (PEO’s) Demonstrated experience managing or supporting U.S. employer-sponsored immigration programs (H-1B, O-1, L-1, PERM/green card processes) and working directly with immigration counsel. Experience supporting employee relations casework with strong attention to documentation and confidentiality. Experience leading cross-functional HR projects, including system implementations or process/policy changes, with a change-management mindset. Excellent organizational skills and comfort managing multiple concurrent priorities with high accuracy. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable acting as a trusted point of contact for employees, vendors, and outside counsel. Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience SHRM-CP certification is a plus Compensation: Compensation Range: $8000 - $9000 per month, paid semi-monthly.
