**Division:** Human Resources **Department:** Human Resources **Reports to:** HR Business Partner Manager **Status:** Exempt/Officer **Grade:** 10 **Salary Range:** $55,588 - $102,474 *Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.* **Location:** Albany, NY or Pittsfield, MA **Purpose/Objective** **:** Responsible for providing HR consultation and support to designated business areas on various HR matters including workforce planning activities, employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and training & development. Stays abreast of federal, state, and local employment laws. Provides a wide range of highly confidential analytical and operational support. **Key Accountabilities:** • Provides guidance and support primarily to Regional Branch Managers and Call Center Managers on navigating performance management matters through coaching, counseling, career development, and corrective action. Manages and resolves routine employee relations matters and conducts thorough investigations, as necessary. Ensures all matters are addressed and resolved timely and in a consistent manner in accordance with company policy and procedures. Proactively takes action to mitigate any potential legal risk. • Partners with Talent Acquisition and management to support recruitment strategies to attract and retain talent. Assist managers with determining department needs and developing job descriptions. Review compensation data for market competitiveness and internal equity. Participates in interviews, as necessary. • Provides HR policy guidance. Responds to HR related inquiries and/or refers to the appropriate resources. • Supports off-boarding processes, conducts exit interviews and identifies trends. Partners with business leaders to identify strategies to remediate feedback. • Participates in management meetings and presents updates, policy changes, trends, benefit updates and other relevant information. • Responds to unemployment claims, files appeals, as necessary, and represents the Bank at hearings with the Department of Labor. • Acts as a trusted resource and maintains open and effective communication with assigned business areas. • Partners with business leaders on organizational design and workforce planning activities and processes employee promotions and transfers. • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. • Acts as a backup to other business areas, as needed. • Participates in special projects and initiatives as required. **Education:** • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience • PHR, SPHR or other professional HR certification preferred **Experience:** • 3+ years HR Generalist experience, with an emphasis on employee relations • Retail branch banking experience preferred, general banking experience a plus • Experience using ADP Workforce Now, preferred **Skills & Knowledge:** • Proven ability to build partnerships and establish trust with business partners • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills • Collaborative in nature, with ability to work independently and is self-motivated • Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality when communicating sensitive information • Ability to manage competing priorities and high volume • Demonstrated ability to apply objective independent thinking to ensure fair and equitable results while minimizing legal risk and liability • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Beacon Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer - all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
