## Description ### About This Job The Houseman plays a vital role in creating an exceptional experience for every guest at the Charleston Marriott Town Center. This position supports the daily operations of our hotel, ensuring public areas are pristine and supplies are readily available. You contribute directly to guest comfort and satisfaction, working behind the scenes to maintain our high standards of hospitality. Your efforts ensure a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment for both guests and staff. ### Job Duties and Responsibilities - **Manages** and **transports** linen, ensuring adequate supply for housekeeping and guest needs. - **Performs** **heavy lifting** and moves furniture, equipment, and supplies as required for events, guest requests, or operational needs. - **Responds** promptly and courteously to **guest services** requests, delivering items and assisting with inquiries. - **Maintains** organized storage areas and **manages supply** inventory, ensuring all necessary items are stocked and accessible. - **Supports** the housekeeping team by assisting with **cleaning** public areas, hallways, and common spaces, maintaining a high level of cleanliness. - **Adheres** to all **safety procedures** and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for self and others. - **Collaborates** effectively with all hotel departments, fostering strong **teamwork** and communication. - **Demonstrates** a strong commitment to **hospitality** and **customer service** in all interactions. - **Applies** keen **attention to detail** when inspecting areas for cleanliness, organization, and readiness. ### Required Qualifications #### Education - Possesses a high school diploma or equivalent. #### Experience - No prior experience is required; we train motivated individuals. #### Knowledge/Skills - **Demonstrates** strong **customer service** skills. - **Exhibits** a positive attitude and strong work ethic. - **Understands** and **follows** basic **safety procedures**. - **Works** effectively as part of a **team**. - **Shows** strong **attention to detail**. - **Communicates** clearly and effectively. #### Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment. - Familiarity with **linen management** or **supply management**. #### Physical Requirements/Work Conditions - **Performs** **heavy lifting**, regularly lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds. - **Stands** and **walks** for extended periods throughout the shift. - **Bends**, **stoops**, **kneels**, **pushes**, and **pulls** frequently. - **Works** in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. - **Navigates** stairs and ramps as needed.
