## Overview - **POSITION: Housekeeping/ Laundry Aide/ Janitor** **DEPARTMENT: Environmental Services (827)** ## Description **Maintain and clean areas designated or assigned** **Trash removal** **Apply appropriate quality control procedures** **Maintain an active continuing education program** **Maintain spirit of cooperation** **Follow Hospital, Housekeeping and Laundry safety policies and procedures** **Conduct business as a health care professional** ## Requirements **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** **One (1) to three (3) months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.** **Professional appearance.** **Ability to adjust to different situations.** **Ability to follow directions accurately, prioritize work responsibilities, and to function without supervision and as a team member.** **Willingness to accept instructions and the ability to learn and understand procedures and the policies of Mt. San Rafael Hospital.** **EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE:** **High School diploma or equivalent - Preferred** **PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:** **Intermittent movement throughout the hospital** **Intermittent use of a keyboard** **Ability to lift 30% of body weight or up to 50 pounds** **Ability to read and understand English** **Ability to communicate verbally and in writing** **Ability to interact with patients, families and staff in a professional manner.** **Ability to maintain matters of a confidential nature** **Ability to remain calm in crisis situations**
