The ideal candidate will possess the appropriate New Jersey Department of Education certification and have experience supporting students who use sign language, hearing aids, and/or cochlear implants. Experience providing itinerant services in public school settings is highly preferred. Qualifications Valid NJDOE Certificate as Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing orDeaf or Hard of Hearing for Oral Communication and Deaf or Hard of Hearing for Sign Language Communication NJDOE Instructional Certificate in Elementary and Middle School Public school and itinerant teaching experience preferred Experience with Visual Phonics training preferred Demonstrated success providing effective instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Ability to work with students who communicate through sign language and residual hearing using hearing aids and/or cochlear implants Ability to design and implement instructional support strategies that promote student success in the classroom Competitive hourly rate Additional Information Must pass a criminal history background check Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status required Must establish New Jersey residency within one year of hire EEO/AA Employer: BCSSSD prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, citizenship, age, sex (including pregnancy), disability, genetic information, or any other protected status under applicable federal, state, or local law.
