Major Food Group is hiring enthusiastic **Hosts** for **THE GRILL,** located inside the historic Seagram's Building. **THE** **GRILL** is a historically based American chophouse set in midcentury New York. It takes great inspiration from history; both the time the Seagram Building was built and the restaurants that existed at that time. It is the precursor to the NY Steakhouse, when things were still intricate and elegant. It celebrates all the animals of the land and some of our favorites frxom the sea. There is extensive table side preparation and service. There is also extensive use of THE GRILL. It is the name of the restaurant, the style of restaurant, and the piece of equipment we use in the kitchen for many of our signature preparations. As a valuable addition to our team, you must ensure that guests have a pleasant and memorable experience. **RESPONSIBILITIES**: - Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of special catch and soups. - Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests' expectations. - Takes names on a waiting list. - Runs the floor plan board. - Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables. - Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available. - Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at the host area. - Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant. - Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure a positive dining experience. - Performs other duties as directed. **REQUIREMENTS**: - Experience in a high volume, upscale restaurant preferred but not required - Previous customer service experience strongly preferred - Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service. - Full time flexible hours are required (able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays). - Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs. - Proficient or ability to learn computer skills including POS systems, OpenTable, Word and Excel. - Positive and enthusiastic attitude **COMPENSATION**: $22.00 / hour **BENEFITS**: - Competitive Salary - Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance with Company subsidy - Growth Opportunities - Progressive Paid Time Off - Parental Leave - Tuition Reimbursement - Generous Dining Allowance - Unlimited Referral Program - TransitChek Discount **Equal Employment Opportunity** Major Food Group considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, creed, gender, national origin, age, disability, marital or veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.
