This entry-level position involves reviewing patient health information and assigning standardized codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. The role ensures that all coded data meets regulatory requirements and supports the integrity of patient records and reimbursement processes. The HIM Coder I collaborates closely with healthcare providers, billing teams, and compliance officers to clarify documentation and resolve discrepancies.
