Collaborating with a skilled team of engineers, designers, and construction professionals, you will contribute technical expertise and innovative solutions to ensure project success. This **hybrid** role is available in our **Mechanincsburg, PA** office, offering significant career growth opportunities for the right individuals. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Project Design and Execution:** Perform detailed design work for highway and transportation projects, including intersections, road widenings, interchanges, and smaller enhancements. - **Technical Development:** Prepare engineering documents for project advertisements and construction, ensuring compliance with applicable design criteria and regulatory standards - **Engineering Analysis:** Conduct design calculations, technical analysis, and produce project specifications for transportation infrastructure. - **Collaboration and Coordination:** Work closely with internal teams, clients, and sub-consultants to ensure design alignment and compliance with project requirements. - **Budgeting and Scheduling:** Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, and schedule tracking to support project efficiency and financial management. - **Site Assessments:** Conduct site visits and inspections to gather data and ensure design accuracy, providing technical support throughout the construction phase. - **Construction Support:** Address design-related questions or issues that arise during project execution, ensuring smooth implementation of engineering plans. - **Client Interaction:** Travel occasionally to project or client sites for meetings, site assessments, and project-related tasks. **Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited program. - 6+ years of experience in highway and transportation design. - Registered Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. - Strong hands-on experience with roadway, intersection, and interchange projects. - PennDOT and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) design experience preferred. - Proficiency in design and plan preparation using MicroStation and related software. - Knowledge of Federal, State, and local jurisdiction permitting regulations. - Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with team members, clients, and regulatory agencies. - Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
