All Our Kin serves nearly 1,100 family child care providers, who in turn educate and care for over 6,000 children from chronically under-resourced communities in Connecticut and New York City. In addition to our direct service program, we train and advise partner organizations across the country to strengthen their engagement and practice with family child care providers. * * * ## Position Summary This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) The main goal of this role is to support the Early Head Start team and program in its health systems and procedures, guide the day-to-day health & safety operations of the program, to support the health and safety of enrolled children, families, and staff, and to ensure the program meets the Head Start Program Performance Standards related to health and safety practices. ## Key Responsibilities Supporting a healthy and safe environment for children, families, and staff - Developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety policies informed by both current research and program data. - Reducing the incidence of illness due to infectious disease transmission. - Adapting the environment to meet the health and developmental needs of all children including those with special needs. - Hiring, supervising and coordinating with the Nutrition Consultant to provide nutrition-related support to EHS staff, childcare educators and families. - Promoting nutritious meals and snacks. - Adopting safe medication administration policies. - Promoting mental health strategies. - Sharing health information and community health resources with children, families and staff. - Ensuring EHS educators are up-to-date on the health and safety regulations outlined in the HSPPS. - Providing required health and safety trainings to all EHS staff and educators within 90 days of hire, on an annual basis, and additionally as needed. - Partnering with EHS educators and staff to ensure facilities meet specific health and safety standards outlined in the HSPPS and in Caring for Our Children, ensuring a clean and safe enviro…
