HEAD OF ACCOUNTING San Francisco, CA WHO WE ARE At Vizcom, we’re reimagining how physical products are designed by fusing AI with human creativity to help designers move from sketch to reality at lightning speed. We’re looking for a Product Designer who obsesses over visual craft and interaction details, but also thrives on breaking new ground. This role will shape the future of our AI-powered sketching and collaboration tools, building experiences that feel as natural as drawing and as powerful as imagining something into existence. You’ll join a small, fast-moving team that values initiative, experimentation, and an eye for beauty. THE ROLE This is a rare build-from-scratch opportunity: own accounting at a fast-growing, AI-native company and shape it from the ground up. As our first dedicated accounting hire, you’ll design the systems, policies, and modern tech stack our financial data lives on. You’ll start as our Head of Accounting, hands-on and building, with a clear path to grow into a full VP, Accounting/Controller as the function and team scale beneath you. Within the first few months, you’ll own the numbers and transform our enterprise billing and revenue recognition processes into an automated, best-in-class system. Within your first year, you’ll bring the close in-house, choose and implement a modern ERP, and lead us through our first external audit. Good foundations exist today, but from here you own accounting and build it. This isn’t a role where you manage a big team on day one. It’s one where you roll up your sleeves and build alongside a company of builders and designers, then grow the team as the work demands. You’ll report to the VP, Finance & Operations, and are preferably based in the San Francisco Bay Area, working in our hybrid environment with regular time together in our S.F. office. If you’ve seen companies scale through $100M+ in revenue, if you’re in the #2 seat today and ready to step it up, if you’re ready to own the function and build it with AI in mind, this is the role for you. HOW YOU’LL DO IT - Own enterprise billing and revenue recognition end-to-end. Turn quote-to-cash and ASC 606 revenue recognition into a clean, best-in-class motion that leadership and the board can trust. - Own and accelerate the close. Streamline monthly and quarterly close with our outsourced firm, then bring core functions (GL, reconciliations, AR/AP, close) in-house on a schedule you set, toward a predictable sub-10-day (or better) cadence. - Choose and implement our ERP. Within your first 6-9 months, evaluate legacy options (NetSuite) against AI-native platforms (Campfire, Rillet) against our real requirements, make the call, and then own the implementation, building the function AI-native from the start. - Get us audit-ready, then lead the audit. Stand up GAAP policies and a right-sized controls framework, clean historical financials, and select and manage the auditor through Vizcom’s first external audit. - Build the team and the org over time. As volume grows, define and hire the first accounting roles (GL Accountants, Revenue Accountants, and beyond) and develop the team (including AI Agents) you’ll eventually lead. - Partner across the business. With the VP, Finance & Operations on reporting, board, and investor support. With GTM, Product, and Data on the systems that connect accounting to the company. And with external tax, compliance, and outsourced partners. WHAT YOU’LL BRING - 8-12 years of progressive accounting experience, with meaningful time at a venture-backed SaaS/AI company. - You’ve built or substantially leveled up an accounting function before. You’ve gone from outsourced or messy to structured and know what the journey actually looks like through $100M+ in revenue - Deep US GAAP expertise, with real ASC 606 revenue recognition experience for SaaS and enterprise contracts. You can write the policy and defend it to an auditor. - Hands-on ownership of the close, financial statement preparation, and…
