Head Cheer Coach (Club Sport/Part-Time)

The Head Cheer Coach supports learning by overseeing the student development efforts for the university’s athletic department and assists in the day-to-day operations of the department’s athletic events. **Core Competencies:** 1. Supports learning through performance of essential job functions and performing other duties and functions as necessary or as assigned, including voluntary participation in university committees, activities and events. - Coaching and training student-athletes - Planning practices and game strategies - Travel coordination and competition logistics - Compliance with institutional and athletic governing body rules - Diversify the University's workforce by assessing hiring practices to attract, retain, and develop talented staff and faculty from diverse backgrounds - Coaching - Being able to communicate feedback and display a high IQ of the game. - Being able to be physically engage in a practice. - Game Responsibilities: Charting, notetaking, feedback, etc. - Passionate and being present for the players. - Hours - Have responsibilities in the fall and spring season - Perform other duties as assigned. **Education:** - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. **Experience:** - Minimum of 2 years coaching. - Solid understanding of Microsoft and Apple operating systems. - Sound judgment and prioritization skills. - Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills. - Quick learner with great prioritization skills. - Ability to work independently and be dependable. - Ability to accept divergent views while maintaining a constructive working relationship with other team members. **Physical Requirements:** - Ability to work with a computer for long periods of the day. - Ability to attend off-campus meetings. - Office setting, standing, walking, sitting. **Work Hours:** This position is allotted 333 hours for the 2026–27 academic year, and time entry is required. The position is scheduled for 13 hours per week from September 15, 2026, through December 11, 2026, and 11 hours per week from January 27, 2027, through May 10, 2027. **Special Requirements:** - • A valid driver's license and driving record which meets institutional requirements is required. • Requires travel between campus locations or to attend off-site meetings. **The compensation for this position is a $5,000 stipend.**
