The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a **Habilitation Nurse Supervisor**. This position is responsible for the supervision/oversight of medical care provided by nursing personnel under their supervision as well as registry nurses; ensure compliance with nursing standard of practice, policies, procedures and guidelines; monitor Title XIX and licensing requirements for ICF/MR's; and keep the Director of Nursing apprised of issues and/or concerns and recommendations for resolution. Flexibility in schedule (i.e., work different shifts) as these are 24-hour residential settings. Most schedules work nights, weekends and holidays. Requires lifting/carrying at least 50 lbs. and pushing/pulling at least 50 lbs. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community. Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor. | Job Duties: | | --- | **Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:** • Make rounds to residences on grounds of the ATPC to monitor/supervise the quality of nursing care by subordinates; provide emergency care; consult with direct care staff on patient care. Provide immediate feedback and retraining when issues related to direct care are noted.Provide training to direct care staff on medically-related subjects. Assist with policy development. Promote a positive team atmosphere • Performs medical record audits, analyzes findings and offers suggestions for process improvement when necessary. Performs medication observation audits, provides immediate staff retraining when necessary and provides audit findings to management for review. Perform medication room audit, assist with immediate resolution of issues identified, provide audit findings & suggestions for process improvement to management. • Meet with subordinates to resolve problems and questions regarding medical issues concerning individuals, work processes, policies, organization; review performance.
