**Position Code:** 7912 **DEPARTMENT/ADMINISTRATION:** Community Service-Learning **POSITION** **:** Temp (12 months), Part-time (20Hours) **SALARY RANGE:**$16.90 - $16.90 **HIRING RANGE:** Anticipated hiring range is near or at the minimum of the classification, commensurate with the candidate's education, experience, skills, and training. **AVAILABLE:** Immediately **POSTING DATE:** July 16th, 2026 **APPLICATION DEADLINE:** Open Until Filled; Apply Immediately. **Definition of Classification:** The Graduate Assistant (GA) for the Outreach and Sustainable University of Redlands Farm (SURF) Graduate Assistant plays a key role in fostering student involvement in community service, environmental initiatives, and campus-wide engagement opportunities. This position supports the coordination, promotion, and implementation of Volunteer Center, CSL, and SURF programs, while strengthening partnerships between students, staff, fellows, and community organizations. **Key Responsibilities:** **Staff Management** - Supervise Volunteer Center Interns and Gardeners in Residence (GIR). - Assist in supervising California Climate Action Corps Fellows **Student Engagement & Recruitment:** - Recruit, engage, and retain students for Volunteer Center and SURF-related service events and programs. - Promote a culture of civic engagement by connecting students to meaningful service opportunities both on and off campus. - Support outreach efforts to increase participation in ongoing and one-time service events hosted by CSL/SURF. **Marketing & Communications:** - Collaborate with VC Intern staff to develop and implement promotional strategies for events and programs related to CSL. - Capture and curate photos and content for promotional materials, social media, and campus communications to encompass all of CSL’s programs. - Assist in maintaining consistent messaging to highlight the impact of service initiatives. **Program Coordination & Collaboration:** - Work closely with SURF Climate Action Corps Fellows and Gardeners in Residence (GIR) Work-Study students to coordinate service projects and engagement activities. - Assist in managing collaborative initiatives such as: - Orange Blossom Trail Clean –Ups and Beautification efforts (OBT) - Rise Against Hunger Meal Packaging Events (twice a year) - Off-campus, environmentally focused clean-up projects - Environmental workshops in partnership with fellows and children’s programs - More events as planned - Provide logistical and administrative support for projects taking place at SURF. - Work collaboratively with Student Wellness, CSL Administration and the Ca Climate Action Corps Fellows to ensure the ongoing care, organization, and stocking of the Student Food Support Pantry, helping to maintain consistent access to food resources for students in need. **Community Partnerships & Service Events:** - Strengthen relationships with community partners by promoting their service opportunities through the Volunteer Center. - Oversee and help coordinate general Volunteer Center program offerings based on partner needs and campus interest. - Facilitate student involvement in CSL (Community Service Learning) events and broader campus service initiatives. **Signature Programs & Campus Events:** - Support the planning and execution of large-scale, campus-wide service events, including: - Rise Against Hunger Meal Packaging Event - University of Redlands Homecoming - Martin Luther King Jr. Week - Believe Walk (as applicable) - Campus events during New Student Orientation, Homecoming, Commencement, and Alumni programs. - Lead efforts for initiatives such as campus blood drives and the GB4U Go Drive. **Training & Development:** - Actively assist in the planning and facilitation of student staff trainings, including: - End-of-summer/fall training (late August) - Spring in-service training (February) - Support the development of training materials and activities that prepare student leaders for effective community engag…
