Girls Varsity Head Soccer Coach JobID: 7226 Position Type: Athletics Coaches/Coach - Girls` Soccer Date Posted: 7/2/2026 Location: Danbury High School Closing Date: Open Until Filled Additional Information: Show/Hide Danbury High School is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Girls Varsity Head Soccer Coach for the upcoming fall season. The successful candidate will lead and develop a competitive varsity soccer program while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and academic excellence among student-athletes. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and conduct all varsity soccer practices and competitions. Develop and implement offensive and defensive strategies, training plans, and player development programs. Promote a positive, inclusive, and student-centered team culture. Ensure compliance with district policies, CIAC regulations, and all athletic department expectations. Collaborate with sub-varsity coaches to promote continuity throughout the girls soccer program. Monitor student-athlete academic progress and encourage personal responsibility. Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents/guardians, school staff, and the athletic department. Supervise assistant coaches and support staff. Maintain equipment, uniforms, and inventory. Attend required coaches' meetings, professional development, and preseason/postseason events. Qualifications Previous soccer coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, or equivalent level preferred. Strong knowledge of soccer fundamentals, player development, and game strategy. Demonstrated ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Commitment to fostering a safe, positive, and inclusive athletic environment. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during the season. Required Certifications Current Connecticut Coaching Permit (or ability to obtain prior to the season). Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. Successful completion of all CIAC and district-required coaching certifications and trainings. Successful completion of all required background checks and district hiring requirements.
