Girls and Boys Throws Coach – Track & Field (Spring Season)

The Loomis Chaffee School seeks an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced **Throws Coach** to join our Track & Field coaching staff for the spring season. Loomis Chaffee's Track & Field program is a perennial contender in both the Founders League and Division I NEPSAC, with a long tradition of competitive excellence and student-athlete development. We are seeking a coach who is passionate about teaching and mentoring young athletes while helping them reach their full potential. The successful candidate will: - Lead the development of our **shot put** athletes while providing technical instruction and support for the **discus**. - Plan and conduct engaging, developmentally appropriate training sessions for athletes of varying experience levels. - Foster a positive, challenging, and inclusive team culture built on sportsmanship, accountability, and personal growth. - Collaborate closely with the Head Track & Field Coach and event coaches to support the overall success of the program. - Attend practices, dual meets, invitationals, and championship competitions throughout the spring season. **Qualifications:** - Previous coaching and/or competitive experience in the throwing events, particularly shot put and discus. - Strong technical knowledge of throwing mechanics and athlete development. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - A commitment to working with high school student-athletes in an educational setting. - Understand and follow policies and expectations of Athletic Dept and Athletic Training Staff - - Ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor students while supporting the mission and values of The Loomis Chaffee School. - Coaching experience with a school or club program - College and/or high school playing experience - CPR and First Aid certified or willing to get certification ***This is a part-time stipend position.*** The Loomis Chaffee School is an independent, coeducational boarding/day school of 750 students, located in the historic town of Windsor, Connecticut.
