Join us. ## Job Description AECOM is seeking a highly motivated geotechnical engineer to support mine tailings, geotechnical, and heavy civil infrastructure projects as part of the Mining group. **Job Summary/ Responsibilities:** - Performs specific portions of broader projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer. - Planning, implementing, and overseeing geotechnical exploration programs (30% travel/field time) - Developing geotechnical laboratory testing assignments - Performing geotechnical evaluations including material characterization, liquefaction, seepage, slope stability, and settlement analyses - Preparing calculation packages - Assisting with the development of geotechnical reports, drawings and specifications - Preparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal team - Review of geotechnical instrumentation and preparation of instrumentation monitoring reports ## Qualifications **Minimum Requirements** - BA/BS + 2 yrs of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education. - Valid U.S. Driver’s License **Preferred Qualifications** - MA/MS Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis - EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months - 4+ years of relevant experience - Basic Knowledge of industry software such as GeoStudio, Utexas, Grapher and AutoCAD Civil3D - Field/Construction experience; tailings or dams experience a plus - Familiarity with design reports, drawings and specifications - Excellent Verbal and written communication skills - Demonstrate proactive problem-solving skills - Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment - Exhibits initiative, responsibility and flexibility - Resourceful, highly organized, and detail oriented - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines - Effective time-management and interpersonal Skills - Ability to work independently and in a team environment ## Additional Information - Relocation is not available for this role. - Sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future.
