The Residential Installer is responsible for the installation of residential garage doors and garage door openers at existing homes as well as for new construction homes. The Residential Installer has specific responsibilities in the areas of: customer interaction, loading/unloading company vehicle, maintaining assigned company vehicle, garage door/garage door opener product knowledge and workplace safety. The job requires that most of the day will be spent either at job sites or in a vehicle in transit between jobs. All power tools and hand tools required are the responsibility of the employee. The Residential Installer is the first line of support for customers and are expected to maintain a professional appearance. Customers are to be treated with respect at all times, regardless of the customer’s mood or disposition, and all customer questions are to be addressed in a truthful and professional manner. Flexibility is important – both from a schedule as well as job activity perspective – all team members do what’s needed to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction 🔧 What You’ll Do Customer interaction to identify installation expectations/requirements as well as communicate product features and corresponding charges for installation work Review work order/invoice information for accuracy and completeness including customer/job site information as well as product information; detailed description of installation performed including time spent on the job, all material used and prices Job site clean up Identification of specific brands of garage doors and garage door openers Monitoring of installation truck inventory as well as loading/unloading of trucks as needed Ensuring truck is fueled, serviced and ready for operation prior to beginning of workday and providing written notification of any required vehicle repairs Observing all traffic laws including posted speed limits, using seatbelts at all times and no cellular phone use whenever operating company vehicle Attending and participating in all company information and safety meetings Assistance and support to other company employees as requested Ability to use and communicate via telephone Ability to use power tools (impact, drill, etc) and hand tools Ability to climb and work off of a stepladder. Ability to lift up to 100 pounds The work environment includes working outdoors during all seasons of the year ✅ What You Bring Must possess and maintain a valid NJ driver’s license Must be able to pass a standard background check Must have manual dexterity to allow for the effective and safe use of power tools/hand tools Must have good mechanical aptitude Must be able to read and write legibly and accurately Must be able to communicate in English Must have basic arithmetic skills to allow basic addition and subtraction Must have a familiarity with southern NJ region so as to travel efficiently between jobs Ability to handle and schedule…
