Fun Afterschool STEM Instructor - September Start

You will lead students through inquiry-based discovery methods involving instructor demonstrations, hands-on activities, and amazing take-home projects that will illustrate how science affects the world around us, inspiring the next generation of scientists. We are looking for **HIGHLY ENERGETIC, DYNAMIC AND CONFIDENT** individuals to join our growing team to conduct exciting science, engineering, and technology programs. You do not need to be a certified teacher, but experience working with groups of elementary-aged students is preferred. **This is a part-time position** and is somewhat seasonal. Pay for all Areas of Business (AOB) is hourly - including set-up and clean-up time. Starting pay is $22.00-$25.00 per hour DOE, plus mileage compensation! **Responsibilities:** - Facilitating day camps, in-person workshops, and after-school science enrichment programs for children from preschool through elementary school - Deliver hands on, high-energy, ***part entertainment/part education*** programs that meet for one hour each week for approximately 8-12 weeks. - Drive to various locations across Los Angeles County and Southern California. - Attend paid training sessions virtually or at our office. - Attend the mandatory Friday Staff Meeting every week (paid). - Be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. - Be on time for all scheduled activities. - Adhere to strict safety and cleanliness guidelines. **Qualifications:** - ***Must be at least 18 years old*** - ***Must be available a minimum of three consistent weekday afternoons, 12-5pm.*** While this is a part-time position, it is critical that you are able to commit to the length of any given program (school season, camp session, after-school program, etc.), and that you are able to give us steady weekly availability. - **Must have an insured, personal vehicle** as you will be transporting equipment and conducting programs at schools and organizations across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. - **Must be available for mandatory Friday meeting, 11am-12pm** - Experience teaching/ working with **groups** of elementary-age (4-12) children (such as an after-school teacher or camp counselor). - Minimum of 1 year of college suggested.
