Rhodes policies and procedures. The RT performs assessments, provides treatments, manages respiratory equipment, and educates elders, families and staff to promote health, safety, dignity, and comfort. A Georgia Respiratory Care Professional License and current CPR certification are required. This position reports to the Director of Respiratory Therapy.** **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 1. Performs comprehensive respiratory assessments (breath sounds, oxygenation, ventilation, work of breathing) and documents findings. 2. Observes, evaluates, documents, and promptly reports changes in an elder’s respiratory status. 3. Administers ordered respiratory therapies including nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy, inhaled medications, chest physiotherapy, and suctioning. 4. Provides tracheostomy care and airway management, including cleaning, suctioning, stoma care, and emergency decannulation protocols as applicable. 5. Sets up, manages, and monitors respiratory equipment (oxygen systems, CPAP/BiPAP, humidification, and ventilatory support if applicable). 6. Ensures accurate and timely documentation to reflect respiratory interventions and education of elders/families. 7. Responds to respiratory emergencies; initiates interventions within scope and follows facility emergency protocols. 8. Participates in admission, discharge, and transfer processes; completes respiratory assessments and recommends equipment and education needs. 9.
