Works individually and in small groups to reinforce instruction, monitor performance, and support learning. This position also performs a variety of instructional and classroom management supports, as well as related clerical tasks to support teachers and other professional staff in all classrooms or learning environments. Supports the classroom teacher in instruction by engaging in planning, following plans outlined by the teacher, and working with individual students/small groups. Supports the classroom teacher in assessment by monitoring independent work, collecting academic/behavioral data, and assisting in keeping accurate/current record of student progress. Supports the classroom teacher in organization by performing clerical duties, assisting in gathering/developing instructional materials, and maintaining an organized work environment. Demonstrates characteristics of an effective team member by engaging in problem solving, and exhibiting flexibility, and cooperation. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Works continuously toward self-improvement through the active pursuit of professional development activities. Implements School Board and school-based policies and procedures in order to uphold school regulations. Assumes other responsibilities and perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Educational Resources/Executive Director of Teaching and Learning MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Below are the qualifications for this position: High School diploma and passing ParaPro scores or a minimum of 60 college credits. State of Delaware Paraeducator Permit required. Ability to work cooperatively with teachers, students, administrators, and parents.
