Works individually and in small groups to reinforce instruction, monitor performance, and support learning. This position also performs a variety of instructional and classroom management supports, as well as related clerical tasks to support teachers and other professional staff in all classrooms or learning environments. Supports the classroom teacher in assessment by monitoring independent work, collecting academic/behavioral data, and assisting in keeping accurate/current record of student progress. Supports the classroom teacher in organization by performing clerical duties, assisting in gathering/developing instructional materials, and maintaining an organized work environment. Demonstrates characteristics of an effective team member by engaging in problem solving, and exhibiting flexibility, and cooperation. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Works continuously toward self-improvement through the active pursuit of professional development activities. Implements School Board and school-based policies and procedures in order to uphold school regulations.
