You will be responsible for performing and monitoring the actual dialysis treatment under the supervision of the Registered Nurse within the correctional community. This dialysis unit is located in: Whitmore Lake, MI, within Woodland Correctional Facility This dialysis unit operates: Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday As in any setting, this involves teamwork and coordinating care with the healthcare team. In addition to the healthcare team, you are also required to maintain strong relationships, regular communication, and visibility with clients (site Managed Healthcare, DOC/BOP, etc.) Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience High School Diploma or Equivalent Nationally recognized Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician certification (CCHT) or equivalent Current CPR certification One year of clinical dialysis experience required Required Skills and Competencies Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and satisfactorily communicate in English. Strong technical/computer proficiency with laptops, tablets, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, etc. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Understands basic renal function and the consequences of renal failure. Demonstrates basic knowledge of treatment modalities available to ESRD patients. Understands and performs the hemodialysis procedure according to Rendevor Dialysis policies and procedures. Ensures that all safety checks are completed before dialysis is initiated. Monitors and records dialysis treatment parameters such as vital signs, weight changes, etc. and communicates information to licensed personnel. Demonstrates an understanding of sterile technique. Knows and follows all Rendevor Dialysis policies and procedures for infection control and understands the hazards associated with failing to follow those procedures. Performs thorough patient assessments, as evidenced by documentation and feedback to the licensed personnel. Promotes the education of patients and their understanding of their disease and its treatment. Obtains blood samples and culture specimens as ordered and performs routine tests.
