FT On-Call RN - El Campo Service Area

Our team of doctors and nurses specialize in managing pain and symptoms that are unique to life-limiting illnesses.**Summary:** We are seeking a candidate who would be responsible for the overall management of a patient's case during off-business hours. **Responsibilities:** - Provides direct nursing care appropriate for a licensed RN - Appropriately responds to after-hour calls from patients/families by educating, providing nursing care, and/or involving other team members. - Documents activities and assessments in the clinical information system and appropriately updates team members - Provides support to patient’s family/friends including education, expectations, and reporting changes in condition - Supports the organization’s goals, initiatives, and value system - Understands and is compliant to organizational policies and processes relating to regulatory, accreditation and privacy standards - Performs other duties as required and/or requested by management **Qualifications:** - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing - Current Texas license - Current certification in basic life support. - Ability to function as part of interdisciplinary team. - Good interpersonal skills – able to communicate with team members and patients from a diverse community. - Knowledge about hospice and experience in a hospice or hospital setting is preferred. - Experience using a clinical information system is preferred. - Ability to provide reliable transportation and travel to multiple work locations throughout the day.
