The Counselor delivers individual and group counseling, consultation, referral, outreach, and crisis intervention services in accordance with Michigan licensure requirements and the ethical standards of the American Counseling Association; in addition to maintaining a regular in-person, on-campus presence to support students and collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners. This position helps promote a safe, responsive, and supportive learning environment through direct service, campus engagement, and coordinated intervention efforts. *Regular on campus presence is expected for **all** LCC employment. Significant documented experience in mental health counseling Must possess one of the following current Michigan credentials: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW-Clinical), Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW-Clinical), Licensed Psychologist (LP), or Limited Licensed Psychologist (LLP) Demonstrated commitment to working effectively with a diverse student population | | Preferred Qualifications: Direct experience providing mental health services within a community college or higher education setting Active membership in professional organizations such as the American College Counseling Association (ACCA) or National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Demonstrated commitment to student equity, success, and inclusion, specifically regarding the needs of underserved and non-traditional students | | *Lansing Community College prohibits sex discrimination in any educational program or activity that it operates.
