**JOB DESCRIPTION** **Freeski Women’s Performance Coach** **CLASSIFICATION:** Year-Round- Full Time **FLSA:** Exempt **REPORTS TO:** Freeski Sport Director **LOCATION:** Based in Park City **TRAVEL:** 50% **BENEFITS:** Comprehensive health insurance package; 401k with 4% company match; generous flexible time off; industry perks; access to athlete gym; weekly staff lunch if on-site; hybrid work schedule if on-site U.S. Ski & Snowboard is seeking a Freeski Womens Performance Coach. This is a full-time, beneficial position eligible for our full benefits package including medical insurance and retirement. For inquiries or help with your application, please email HR@usskiandsnowboard.org. **SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE** This role is specifically dedicated to driving elite, international performance within our women’s freeski slopestyle and halfpipe programs. Responsibilities include monitoring load volume, designing skill development opportunities, improving landing mechanics and progressing fundamental ski and air technique. The objective is augmented performance with reduced injury rates. This is a new role that will require research and development in this area to create a comprehensive program around these objectives. This role will work with all other coaches for safe on hill progression and support at camps and contests in addition to at the Center of Excellence with the USSS High Performance team. **ABOUT US** U.S. Ski & Snowboard (USSS) is committed to leading, encouraging, and supporting athletes in achieving excellence and making the United States of America the Best in the World in Olympic skiing and snowboarding. We are committed to fostering, cultivating and maintaining a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion by creating an environment in which diversity is valued, equity is striven for, and inclusion is embraced. **ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES** - Establish technical, physical, and mental goals in collaboration with Freeski coaches with each female athlete for training and competition, creating an Athlete Development Plan, with tracking and updating throughout the season. - Plan and execute skill building camps outside of the regularly offered athletic programing to enhance and build injury prevention skills. - Monitor physical and mental loads throughout season for female athletes providing guidance on peak risk and peak opportunity situations. - Develop and test innovative ways to reduce injuries in female freeskiing - Collect data and analyze effectively, identifying trends to create new learning opportunities - Collaborate with all aspects of high-performance team to enhance female performance and safety - Track and monitor physiological patterns throughout season in conjunction with sports science - Manage travel expenses and develop project sheets that estimate costs per athlete and communicate, track, and balance the projects expenses with monthly reports with Team Manager. **OTHER DUTIES** Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
