Summary: The Fraud Mitigation Specialist (Debit) is responsible for responding to calls received from members and Teachers staff regarding debit card activity/transactions. Education and/or Experience: - High school diploma or GED required - Minimum two years experience in banking, branch operations, or a related financial services role required - Debit card claims experience required - Visa network rules, debit disputes, chargeback process, chargeback fraud, and Reg E claims experience required - Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex issues required - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with direct member contact and sensitive communication - High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters - Team-oriented with the flexibility to support additional fraud operations tasks when required - Experience using fraud detection systems such as LexisNexis, Emailage, or equivalent preferred - Prior exposure to core banking systems and transaction monitoring platforms preferred - Knowledge of current and emerging check fraud trends and mitigation techniques preferred Job Responsibilities: - Processes Debit Card applications, researches fraud alerts and takes appropriate action, handles overdrawn accounts, reviews and processes debit card reissues, and processes approved Debit Card limit - Researches fraud alerts and acts based on policy and procedures - Processes and manage the lifecycle of Debit Card disputes - Contacts members to obtain information related to disputes - Processes chargebacks, provisional credits, and communicates with members to ensure accurate information is entered in systems - Analyses and processes requests from merchants to release authorization holds - Accesses member accounts to ensure transactions have been completed and releases holds - Blocks and unblocks Debit Card accounts and applies Debit Card Restrictions - Identifies card fraud risks which includes friendly fraud, dispute abuse, chargeback fraud and other relevant cards risks - Partners with the fraud operations team when fraud is detected and ensures cases are created for investigations - Helps identify and track emerging check fraud trends - May supports other fraud functions as needed - \*Performs other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor Benefits of Joining the Teachers Team: We provide a competitive compensation and benefits package that includes, but is not limited to: - This position is eligible for our annual discretionary bonus program.
