**Essential Responsibilities:** - Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility, according to storage requirements, shelf-life regulations, and staging procedures. - Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions. - Ensuring loads are properly secure, including performing material handling procedures to correctly stack, palletize, ship, and move material. - Stacking and storage of empty pallets, crates, etc. - Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery and lubricating equipment. - Unloading materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places. - Disposal of waste materials/recyclables through the use and movement of machine hoppers, roll-offs, and other required equipment. - Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment. - Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies. - Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment’s storage plan. - Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials, examines stored materials and reports deterioration and damage. Removes material from storage and prepares it for shipment. - This position can alternate between outdoor and indoor environments, potentially exposing employees to environmental hazards. - Operate tools and equipment in performance of duties as approved per management. - Conducts assigned portions of inventories. Uses bar code wands, labeling equipment, laser scanning equipment, and/or computer terminals. May require a CAC for system access. - Operates a manually controlled gasoline, electric or liquid propane gas powered forklift to transport goods and materials of all kinds within a warehouse. - Observes and follows all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. - Performs all housekeeping and maintenance duties as needed to ensure workspace upkeep. - Performs all other duties as assigned, requested, or related, unless otherwise excluded by this description or the established collective bargaining agreement. **Minimum Requirements:** - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. - Twelve months job related experience and/or training is required. - Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle. - Position may require travel. - Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. - Must be able to speak, read and understand English. - This position requires the candidate to pass a pre-employment physical examination and urinary analysis. - Must be available for any shift, must be willing to work weekends and other hours as needed. - Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location. **Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:** Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting up to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/or organizing skills, and musts be able to work under deadlines.
