**SUMMARY:** | The Food Service Assistant provides support in areas such as production, safety, sanitation, customer service, catered events and other aspects as needed. | | --- | **DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** - Prepare and serve daily meals in accordance with the menu. Establish a safe & sanitary work environment. **QUALIFICATIONS:** - At least 6 months of cooking experience preferred. - 1+ year experience working with large groups of people. - Experience with non-profit organizations recommended. - G.E.D or High School Diploma or equivalent experience. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:** - U.S labor and health laws, mass quantity cooking - Cooking, Baking. - Ability to adapt to changing priorities, with a sense of urgency - Excellent customer service skills. - Experience working with vulnerable populations. - Ability to be professional, flexible, respectful, and calm. - Ability to work well with others. - Ability to lead by example. - Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or English and Creole preferred.
