Job Description Mixing and Blending Machine Operators set up, operate, or tend machines to mix or blend materials, such as flour, sugar, and salt ingredients. They also weigh or measure materials, heavy ingredients (as flour bags), or products to ensure conformance to requirements during the entire shift. Key Responsibilities & Reporting Lines The role of the Food Batch Operator – Mixer, will be to work closely with Production Operators, Production Supervisors and Production Quality Assurance Technicians to achieve our goals and mission. Key Responsibilities: - Adheres to the highest standards of company and plant safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations - Tend accessory equipment such as pumps and conveyors to move materials or ingredients through production processes. - Weigh or measure materials, heavy ingredients (as flour bags), and products to ensure conformance to requirements - Clean and maintain equipment, using hand tools - Record operational and production data on specified forms - Transfer materials, supplies, and products between work areas, using moving equipment and hand tools - Unload mixtures into containers or onto conveyors for further processing - Add or mix ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices - Compound and process ingredients according to work instructions (recipe) - Enter traceability in the computer system - Monitor and document the product temperature and weight in logs for evidence of correct process Qualifications and Experience Essential Skills and Requirements: - Lift up 50-55 pounds frequently - Must be able to read and write in English, Spanish a plus - Follow instructions - Good communication skills - Basic computer skills - Occasional seasonal overtime including possible 6-day work weeks Essential Behavioural Competencies - Initiative - Ability to work independently and achieve goals - Team player in communicating with your supervisor Physical Requirements - Lifting to 55 pounds frequently - Must be at least 18 years of age - Standing 100% of the time in one location - Cold environment of around 45-50 degrees Frequently bending, raising arms, and climbing up and down - Coordination and balance DISCLAIMER: The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work.
