Our approach to providing not only excellent care to our patients and families, but also providing the same heartfelt care and commitment to our employees, leads us to be recognized as not only a leader in hospice and palliative care, but also a [beacon of excellence as an employer in Western North Carolina](https://fourseasonscare.org/four-seasons-living-wage-certified/). | **Job Title** | Caregiver / In-Home Aide | | --- | --- | | **Reports To** | Director of Home Care | | **Status** | Flexible Shifts (days, nights, or weekends) | | **Hours/Week** | Flexible - Part-time or Full-time hours available | | **Home Office/Location** | Flexible areas available throughout Buncombe and surrounding counties - you will be assigned to a convenient area near you | If you are interested in this position, please contact **Recruiting Coordinator** **Jenny Martin** at jmartin@fourseasonscfl.org **POSITION SUMMARY** This position provides personal care and/or home management tasks to clients requesting and eligible for Caregiver services, under the direction of the RN. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** - Practice within the scope of training. license, certification, or registration, where applicable, and as required by law and regulation. - Performs tasks as delegated and directed by the registered nurse - Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living and/or Instrumental Activities of Daily Living, including but not limited to: - Assisting with ambulation, transfers, or exercises - Assisting with bathing, dressing, and grooming - Assisting with feeding, - Assisting with toileting, and incontinence care, - Housekeeping, - Meal preparation, - Safe transportation, - Medication reminders, - Pet care, - Maintain general order, safety, and cleanliness of Client area. - Communicate any changes in Client condition or occurrences to registered nurse. - Maintain chart documentation of care provided in accordance with the written plan of care. - Practice safety and infection control methods. - Demonstrate proper transfer and lift techniques using good body mechanic techniques. - Maintain confidentiality & privacy of any PHI per HIPAA requirements. - Exhibit competency in the observance of Universal Precautions by: - Knowing standard precautions - Washing hands before and after patient care, - Wearing gloves and other PPE as required. ## **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES** **** - Knowledge and application of proper body mechanics - Knowledge and application of Infection Control Principles & environmental safety - Excellent organization skills - Excellent interpersonal skills - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines - Ability to take initiative and utilize innovative techniques and ingenuity - Ability to interact with various departments throughout the organization - Ability to work flexible hours - Ability to participate as a team player to coordinate projects - Ability to read, interpret and apply policies, best practices, laws, rules and regulations **** **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** ***Experience:*** - Caregiving experience preferred ***Licensures & Certifications: (if applicable)*** - Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance **SUMMARY OF PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** - Walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, twisting, crouching/squatting, kneeling - Flexion/Extension of arms/wrist - Hand dexterity to include gripping, pushing/pulling and writing - If assigned to hands-on client, ability to assist with transfers/repositioning, - If assigned to hands-on client, lifting/carrying of 50 lbs **OTHER DUTIES** - Report to work on time, ready for shift, and appropriately dressed for role. - Consistently demonstrate Four Seasons values and compet…
