## Description **Responsible for management, maintenance and oversight of regional fleet and equipment across assigned region. Emphasizes safety in all aspects of job performance and assigned areas of responsibility. This position requires constantly oversight through hands on approach and leadership of mechanical staff for assigned region.** **Responsible for management and oversight of the Company’s vehicle/equipment maintenance in accordance with Cranemasters established programs and procedures. Ensures that programs are executed in a safe, efficient, professional, and economical manner. Coordinates activities working with assigned divisions/locations and directing subordinates’ activities.** **Ensures that all activities are carried out in a safe, effective, professional, and efficient manner so as to protect employees and the assets of the Company.** **Essential Functions:** 1. Direct/daily interaction with mechanics leading by example, motivating for service excellence, and emphasizing safety in all aspects of work accomplishment. Regularly visits each shop location to provide direction and maintenance support. 2. Assures timely and assertive responses to equipment failures. Resolves internal and external customer complaints by investigating/analyzing/resolving problems, determining root cause(s) of failures, and puts programs/rules/best practices in place to prevent future occurrences. 3. Responsible for implementing and following Cranemasters preventative maintenance program. 4. Analyzes equipment/vehicle data (life cycle cost analysis, maintenance records, hours of use, etc.) to anticipate needs and/or proactively eliminate failures. Collaborates with Vice Presidents and Division Managers to make recommendations for vehicle/equipment replacement, researches manufacturer specifications and utilizes cost-conscious decision markers/budget parameters and product warranty in selection of same. 5. Assist with developing, implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures for vehicle/equipment maintenance. 6. Assist with developing, implementing and maintaining standard operating procedures for equipment maintenance inventory. 7. Ensures that mechanics maintain appropriate levels of inventory for commonly used items; ensures that purchases are accomplished in a cost-effective manner; assigns purchasing limits for purchases and ensures that approvals for purchase(s) of parts that exceed purchasing authority are obtained in advance. 8. Oversees and performs project/repair/maintenance scheduling, ensuring that delivery commitments and deadlines are met. 9. Ensures that mechanics timely submit and/or approve accurate reports/data/documentation in accordance with established processes for accounting/payroll. Includes: payroll data, equipment usage, project reports, etc. 10. Provides hands-on demonstration of commitment to the company’s culture and maintenance of a positive work environment. Provides leadership and mentorship to all employees in order to retain a well skilled and highly capable work force. 11. Responsible for hiring/selection process. Utilizes “best in practice” interview skills to select the best talent, and individuals of integrity/character that best fit/enhance Cranemasters culture. 12. Provides regular feedback as well as coaching/counseling to direct reports to further develop their knowledge, skills, and abilities. Conducts annual assessments of direct report’s job performance for annual reviews. Identifies training needs and goals for further development of employee’s skills ensuring that employee is afforded the opportunity to attain these goals. 13. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending leadership development, meetings, workshops, training, utilizing professional publications. 14.
