FITNESS SPECIALIST

Under the direction of the Wellness Coordinator, the Fitness Specialist works to ensure Fitness Center members exercise safely and provide outstanding customer service. The Fitness Attendant will also be responsible for assuring members and guests have checked in, administering InBody 570 body composition assessments, conducting orientations, maintaining cleanliness of the Wellness Center and participating in special events. **Major Job Responsibilities** • Provide a safe environment for all members and guests to achieve their wellness goals. • Deliver outstanding customer service to all visitors of the Wellness Center through active listening. • Be visible on the floor, prepared to answer questions, giving members assistance as needed, and performing cleaning duties while resetting the Wellness Center. • Give equipment orientations and tours of the Wellness Center while providing direction or guidance to other facility areas. • Inform guests on facility services, programs, schedules, costs, memberships, policies and other applicable events across Greater Midland. • Perform administrative tasks supporting group fitness activities. • Demonstrate values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility as role models within our facility. • Cooperate in fostering a team culture and working collaboratively. • Embrace and demonstrate the values of Greater Midland. • Consistently demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s values. **Qualification Requirements** • Must be 18 years or older; high school diploma or equivalent GED • CPR & First Aid certifications, preferred • Excellent people skills • Ability to learn systems related to wellness responsibilities • One-year minimum experience in customer service-related work preferred **Physical Requirements** Wellness Center is located in the Greater Midland Community Center. Regular communication and contact with Partner Agencies, employees and members. Repetitive keyboard activity and standing at computer workstation; bending, stooping and lifting for equipment maintenance. The Wellness Center is open during various hours including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. Weekdays 3p-9:30p Saturday and Sunday availability
