This position is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring audit-ready documentation, and maximizing the effectiveness of financial systems, including Sage Intacct or comparable ERP platforms. The Fiscal Accountant works collaboratively with program staff, Human Resources, and leadership to strengthen internal controls, improve financial processes, identify operational efficiencies, and support informed decision-making. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, technologically proficient, and capable of independently driving improvements that enhance accuracy, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. **Duties and Responsibilities:** **Accounting & Financial Operations** - Process and record accounts payable transactions, journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other accounting activities in a timely and accurate manner. - Maintain general ledger integrity by ensuring proper coding and allocation of expenses across grants, departments, programs, and funding sources. - Reconcile bank accounts, Ramp credit card activity, balance sheet accounts, and other subsidiary ledgers while investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly. - Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial information is accurate. - Utilize Sage Intacct ERP system functionality to improve efficiency, automate processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and strengthen financial controls. - Prepare financial analyses and account reconciliations to support decision-making and improve financial performance. - Communicate directly with vendors, customers, program staff, and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting discrepancies and fiscal concerns. - Perform additional accounting and administrative responsibilities as assigned. **Budgeting & Grant Management** - Track grant expenditures and monitor compliance with funder-specific allowable cost requirements. - Assist with annual budget preparation, budget revisions, forecasting, and financial planning activities. - Collaborate with program leadership to improve financial understanding and support effective budget management. - Develop tools, reports, and system-based solutions that improve grant tracking and budget monitoring. - Identify opportunities to streamline grant reporting processes while maintaining compliance requirements…
