This role works closely with our team of financial counselors and interacts directly with patients, so we're looking for someone who brings both billing expertise and empathy to every conversation. **What You'll Do** - Meet with patients following provider visits to review insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs. - Verify insurance benefits and eligibility online or by phone as needed. - Clearly explain the cost of treatment based on medical recommendations, with empathy and professionalism. - Maintain a positive, patient-facing demeanor and deliver outstanding customer service. - Collaborate closely with billing staff, physicians, and other departments. - Demonstrate flexibility, compassion, and respect in all patient and team interactions. - Accurately interpret and explain insurance benefits in plain language. - Maintain attention to detail while handling sensitive financial information. - Use sound judgment and decision-making skills in complex or emotionally sensitive situations. **What We're Looking For** - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or billing role. - Proficient in Excel and comfortable using various computer systems. - Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment. - Strong commitment to providing a high level of customer service. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively as needed. **Schedule** Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Time. This is a full-time, hybrid role, combining remote work with time in our St. Louis, MO office.
