Field Surveyor Estimator

## Description **JOB SUMMARY** The FIELD ESTIMATOR will be responsible for conducting on-site assessments of potential projects, gathering detailed measurements and data, analyzing project specifications, and helping to prepare accurate cost estimates, while maintaining client relationships and ensuring timely delivery of estimates and other essential duties as assigned. **JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** 1. COORDINATE and attend pre-bid walks and field site visits to obtain pertinent information for developing accurate estimates. 2. PERFORM core samples, site measurements and dictate field dimensions back to the estimating team. 3. CONDUCT proper repairs and documentation of core samples. 4. PROFIDE responsible and accurate estimates to customers, utilizing the provided Edge Estimating Software, as assigned. 5. OBTAIN pricing for jobs at the time of estimate from distributors and subcontractors as assigned, utilizing National Price Books and/or local distributors. 6. COORDINATE directly with Sr. Estimator and Director of Capital Projects to facilitate a prioritized schedule to meet timeline required for returning bid information to the Estimating team. 7. QUALIFY estimate opportunities as required. 8. ASSIST in project site visits for safety inspections/quality checks as time allows/travel schedule. 9. ASSIST with estimating workload using Edge Estimating Software. 10. PERFORMS OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:** - Knowledgeable in using Edge Estimating software - Knowledge of sheet metal installation and commercial roof installation - Ability to read/interpret/create simple drawings - Ability to make quick, informed decisions based on project data and changing conditions. - Ability to communicate clearly convey estimates and project details to estimators and team members. - Ability to work independently. - Skilled in evaluating project requirements and costs. - Skilled in ensuring all aspects of a project are considered to avoid cost overruns. ## Requirements **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** High school diploma or equivalent Three (3) years of commercial experience in estimating or project management/supervision Willingness to travel 90% of the workweek **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** Certifications Education Specific experience **SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS** Must pass a criminal background check Must have a valid driver’s license Must have and maintain a good driving record Must pass preemployment drug screening Must be able to climb ladders, lift up to 50lbs, and hoist tools with a backpack while climbing ladders Must be AGILE. The ability to hold yourself and others Accountable, have a personal Growth mindset, ability to act with Integrity, ability to demonstrate Leadership attributes to motivate and support coworkers, and practice Everyday Improvement. **WORK CONDITIONS:** Works outside in all types of weather and may be exposed to extreme heat and cold, rain, snow, sun etc. This is a safety sensitive position due to driving requirements or job responsibilities whole include safety-sensitive tasks that require performing duties fraught with risk of injury to others where even a momentary lapse of attention may have grave and disastrous consequences.
