Field Service Power Generation Technician - Helper

Under direct or close supervision, provides assistance with basic repairs and preventative maintenance on all power generation systems, parts, and components at customer sites. Will undergo on-the-job training and relevant Cummins-based courses. Adheres to established procedures and guidelines to enhance service workshop knowledge and skills. We are looking for a talented **Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic - Helper** to join our Distribution Business in **Kearny, NJ.** **In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:** - Completing repair activities on generators or components - Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner - Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools - Maintain detailed records of service - Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies - Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products - Maintain own tools ### Responsibilities **In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:** - Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities. - High Voltage / Low Voltage experience. - Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products. - Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators. - Basic Diesel Engine experience. - Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality. **Education, Licenses, Certifications:** Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Current relevant electrical certification Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. **Experience:** Helper A/ PG/PM Tech A worker who must furnish a set of hand tools and possess limited knowledge of Cummins engines. They may do complex mechanical work with the support of an advance mechanic or a working foreman. Must be able and capable to perform fluid and filter changes on assigned products. ### Qualifications This is a Union role and you will be required to joint the Union. Hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Hours are subject to change due to business needs or conditions.
