Field Service Engineer - Microscopy (m/f/d)

The **Field Service Engineer** (FSE) is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing high-end microscopy systems (e.g. confocal microscopes) at customer sites. The role ensures optimal system performance and customer satisfaction through timely service delivery, technical expertise, and proactive support. ## Tasks * Install and commission advanced microscopy systems at customer sites * Perform preventive maintenance and system calibrations * Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and software-related issues * Troubleshoot complex system failures and implement corrective actions * Execute upgrades and modifications to existing systems * Provide technical support and training to customers (scientists, lab technicians, engineers) * Act as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts * Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional service delivery * Maintain detailed service documentation and reports * Manage service schedules, parts inventory, and travel planning * Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards * Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, technical support, sales) to resolve issues * Support remote diagnostics and digital service tools * Identify recurring issues and suggest product/service improvements * Participate in technical training to stay current with new technologies * Share knowledge and best practices within the service organization ## Requirements * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics or related field * 2–5+ years of experience in field service, preferably with Confocal microscopy, Analytical instruments or lab equipment * Strong knowledge of Electronics and electromechanical system, Imaging systems and optics * Ability to read schematics and technical manuals * Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software systems * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills * Strong communication and customer-facing abilities * Ability to work independently in remote environments * Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70–80%) * Valid driver’s license * Ability to work in laboratory and cleanroom environments * Good knowledge of German and / or French and English ## Benefits * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: * Electrical Engineering * Mechanical Engineering * Physics or Applied Physics * Mechatronics or related field * 2–5+ years of experience in field service, preferably with: * Confocal microscopy * Analytical instruments or lab equipment * Strong knowledge of: * Electronics and electromechanical systems * Imaging systems and optics * Software System set up * Ability to read schematics and technical manuals * Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software systems * Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills * Strong communication and customer-facing abilities * Ability to work independently in remote environments * Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70–80%) * Valid driver’s license * Ability to work in laboratory and cleanroom environments * Good knowledge of German and / or French and English Evident Europe GmbH is an equal opportunities employer and we look forward to receiving your application.
