## Description Description: The Field Human Resources Generalist acts as a strategic and practical partner supporting managers and employees across Central Coast plant locations. This role is centered on the field and is responsible for delivering HR solutions that align with business goals, offering guidance on HR best practices, and promoting employee engagement, compliance, and organizational effectiveness. This position will serve with a strong understanding of field operations, capable of traveling regularly to various sites to support local leadership and employee relations efforts. Essential Functions of the Position: Strategic HR Partnership: - Partner with site managers and supervisors to understand operational needs and align HR strategies with business goals. - Support workforce planning, organizational development, and talent retention initiatives. - Function as a trusted advisor to field leaders, providing guidance on performance management, team dynamics, and HR compliance. Employee Relations & Compliance: - Manage and resolve employee relations issues with fairness and consistency. - Conduct thorough investigations and recommend appropriate action when necessary. - Ensure consistent application of policies, procedures, and labor law compliance across all locations. - Support safety and compliance teams as needed, ensuring alignment between HR and safety programs. Talent & Performance Management: - Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and retention of hourly and salaried employees. - Facilitate performance review processes, coaching, and disciplinary actions. - Identify training needs and recommend or deliver effective training programs in collaboration with the HR team. Field Support & Travel: - Regularly visit job sites and plant locations to provide face-to-face support to managers and employees. - Build and maintain strong relationships with field personnel to promote a positive work environment and increase employee engagement. - Serve as the HR liaison for remote and hard-to-reach sites, ensuring consistent communication and HR presence. Key Competencies: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, decentralized environment. - Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence without authority. - High degree of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism Skills and Knowledge: - Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and coach. - Strong understanding of HR principles, labor law, and organizational behavior. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment. - Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and complex employee relations matters. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG) is a plus. - Willingness and ability to travel frequently to company locations (up to 60%) Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. - 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a Generalist or related role. - Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, leave administration, performance management, and HR operations. - Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-site environment preferred. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; UKG experience preferred. - Ability to travel regularly to support field locations (up to 60%). - Experience supporting manufacturing, construction, transportation, or other industrial operations preferred. - HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience supporting multi-site operations. - Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
