Field Engineer

### POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY The Field Engineer is committed to supporting Louisiana Bridge Builders by providing engineering activity support to the Construction Management team throughout the lifecycle of the Project. ### LOCATION This position is based in Lake Charles, LA. ### PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provides construction site engineering resources and expertise during the construction phase of the Project. 2. Plan and recommend civil procedures to be implemented by Field Supervision to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications. 3. Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision. 4. Ensure all copies of specifications and construction drawings are latest issue and distributes as required to the Superintendent(s). 5. Works with construction crews and engineering leaders to plan field layout on the project site, ensuring appropriate utility and commercial lines are marked before production begins. 6. Prepare RFP for important packages of work (precast, piles, concrete) in coordination with construction managers. 7. Coordinate field works performed by subcontractors (sweeping, geotechnical campaign, orientations, coordination with H&S). 8. Attend meetings with potential suppliers in coordination with procurement department. 9. Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. ### KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, & SKILLS FOR SUCCESS 1. Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change. 3. Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal. 4. Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches. 5. Ability to function effectively as a team player and collaborator. 6. Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including additional and/or different hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed, to best serve the business operations. 7. Ability to maintain a valid and current driver's license. ### QUALIFICATIONS At a minimum, the Field Engineer must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or equivalent field of study, along with 4+ years of construction field related experience and a valid and current driver's license or a high school diploma, or equivalent, along with 8+ years of construction field related experience and a valid and current driver's license.
