As a Field Enforcement Agent 1 with the Bureau of Enforcement and Taxpayer Assistance, you will start an exciting path in tax enforcement and public service. As a Field Enforcement Agent 1, you will perform the following duties: - **Field Investigation:** Participate in inspections, road details, and testing procedures to support tax enforcement efforts - **Compliance Review:** Assist with investigating businesses and individuals for tax violations and help gather needed documentation - **Evidence Handling:** Prepare, submit, and review physical evidence and reports that support legal action and prosecution - **Taxpayer Interaction:** Explain tax rules, collect delinquent taxes, and support education efforts for new registrants - **Record Research:** Search public records and databases to locate taxpayers and verify compliance information - **Operational Support:** Maintain equipment, complete activity logs, and follow required procedures for inspections and enforcement Interested in learning more? Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:** - Four years of experience in tax investigation work; **or** - Four years of experience in collections operations in a business, commercial, industrial, government, or finance office; **or** - An equivalent combination of experience and training. **Special Requirements:** - You must possess an active motor vehicle license. **Additional Requirements:** - You must reside in **Philadelphia** or **Montgomery** County. Relocation is not an option. - You must be able to perform essential job functions. **Legal Requirements:** - This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075 (Pub 1075) which requires you to pass an enhanced background check prior to beginning employment.
