To Learn More Visit: http://www.geosyntec.com/careers/. ## Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS. - Primary responsibilities include: Engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews. - Incorporate advanced technical practices to develop solutions for a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements. - Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. - Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS. ## Education and Licensure - An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience. OR A MS degree and 12 years' experience. OR A BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience. ## Skills, Experience and Qualifications **REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:** - Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship. (required) - Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance. (required) - Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required) - BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering - The candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 15 years design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry. - The candidate must demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of experience working at one or more DOE facilities. - Candidate must demonstrate experience creating and revising documentation in one or more of the following areas: Process Flow; Piping and Instrumentation. Diagrams; System Descriptions; Mechanical Equipment Lists; Mechanical Equipment Sizing; Pipe and Valve Specifications; Failure Analysis; Accident Analysis; Finite Element Analysis; ASME Code Design and Evaluation; Pipe Stress Analysis; Material Handling Design; Fire Protection Design; HVAC Design; and Vendor Document Reviews. - Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed.
